Privacy policy

This policy explains what the Bide app and this website do with your information. The short version: your funds stay on your phone, and the little we do collect is about how the app works, not about your money.

IN SHORT
  • No account, no sign-in, no bank connection.
  • Your fund names, amounts, notes and balance are stored only on your device. We never receive them.
  • The app sends anonymous usage events and crash reports to Google Firebase so we can fix bugs and improve Bide. You can turn analytics off in Settings.
  • Purchases are handled by Apple or Google, with RevenueCat checking your subscription. We never see your card details.
  • We don't sell your data, don't show ads and don't track you across other apps or websites.

1. Who we are

Bide is developed by Individual entrepreneur (FOP) Korzh Artem, Ukraine ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the limited information described below. Contact: support@artemkorzh.dev.

2. Information that stays on your device

Everything you enter in Bide (fund names, icons and colours, targets, due dates, amounts you add or withdraw, notes, your optional account balance and your settings) is stored locally on your phone. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and it is never included in analytics or crash reports.

Reminders are scheduled by the app on your device. Home-screen widgets read the same local data.

3. Backups and exports

You can export a backup file or a CSV file. These files are created on your device and go wherever you choose to save or share them. We never receive them.

4. Usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)

To understand which parts of Bide are used and where people get stuck, the app sends anonymous usage events to Google Analytics for Firebase, a service of Google. Examples are "onboarding step completed", "fund created" (with the template and repeat type only), "paywall viewed" and "widget added".

Along with these events, Firebase collects a random app-instance identifier, your device model, operating system and app version, language, and approximate location (country or region), which Google derives from your IP address. Events never include fund names, notes, amounts or your balance. We don't use advertising identifiers and don't use this data for advertising.

You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings → About → Share anonymous usage data. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and then deleted automatically.

5. Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)

If the app crashes or hits a serious error, Firebase Crashlytics sends us a crash report so we can fix it. A report contains technical details such as the stack trace, device model, operating system and app version, free memory and disk space, and a random installation identifier. Crash reports never include your fund data. Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days.

6. Purchases (App Store, Google Play and RevenueCat)

Bide Pro is sold through the App Store and Google Play. Apple or Google processes your payment under their own privacy policies. To check whether you have an active subscription, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives a random app user ID, your purchase receipt and basic device information (such as the operating system, app version and IP address). We don't receive your name, email or payment details.

7. This website

This website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.

If you allow it in the banner, the website also uses Google Analytics to see how visitors find Bide, which pages they read and whether they tap the App Store or Google Play buttons. Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga) and collects a random identifier, your browser and device type, the pages you visit and approximate location derived from your IP address. Nothing from Google loads until you choose "Allow". You can change your choice at any time with at the bottom of every page; choosing "No thanks" removes the cookies. Website analytics data is kept for up to 14 months. The fonts are served from our own domain.

These providers may process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where the GDPR applies, they rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Why we process it (legal basis)

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process crash reports and subscription checks because they are needed to provide a working app and the subscription you bought, app usage analytics on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving Bide, and website Google Analytics only on the basis of your consent. You can object to analytics at any time by turning it off in Settings.

10. Children

Bide isn't directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their information.

11. Your rights and deleting your data

Your funds live on your device, so you control them: you can change or delete any fund in the app, use Settings → Data → Reset all data, or uninstall the app. The analytics and crash data we hold isn't linked to your name or email, and it is deleted automatically after the periods above. See Delete your data for step-by-step instructions.

Depending on where you live (for example in the EU/EEA or the UK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to it, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Write to support@artemkorzh.dev and we'll help with any request.

12. Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, mention it in the app's release notes.
